Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year from all of us!

Wow, is it really this time of year already? The old adage that time seems to go quicker as you age seems to have proven itself this year! Ensure that during the busy Christmas festivities you find time to take rest, ‘a field that has rested gives a bountiful crop’, I certainly will be! The practice will close for Christmas on 23 December, reopening on 5 January 2015.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Ashley Johnston for being such an all-rounded, gregarious and caring podiatrist, and to thank all of my team, whose faithfulness, hardworking, can-do attitudes provide invaluable support to me every day.

I’m most excited to introduce our new podiatry assistant, Belinda Baker. Podiatry assistants are nationally recognised specialist Allied Health practitioners (Certificate IV). Belinda will be providing essential support to our consultations and day to day roles, in particular assisting you before and after your treatment. With Belinda’s help, we’re introducing ‘deluxe podiatry treatments’, offering you extended general treatments with foot soaks, therapeutic warm paraffin wax wraps and indulgent foot massages. Doesn’t that sound like the ideal Christmas present? Vouchers available at reception.

Our focus remains committed to delivering the highest professional standards in general footcare and sports podiatry, and more recently in sourcing fabulous feet and orthotic friendly shoes!

Our all-female team know how frustrating it is to find comfortable shoes that still look and feel good, and we think we’ve nailed it with our FRANKiE4 shoes, Revere Comfort Shoes and Orthaheel sandals, shoes and thongs. Step into the clinic to see our full range!

Paul and I will be spending this time enjoying another Gunnedah farm Christmas, Grace and Luke will no doubt be spoilt rotten by their doting grandparents! I have five siblings, Paul has six, with a grand total of 21 cousins, who will all be visiting. I love that my children have such a close friendship with their gorgeous cousins, long may that continue into their adult lives. Catering for all these mouths generally takes precedence over anything else, but rest assured there’s always time for the annual backyard cricket Test Series, dirt bike rides and swims in the local river!

The team share their Christmas plans.

My husband and our two children will spend Christmas in Queensland with my family. My parents live on a property in Central Queensland but as none of us like the heat up there, we all head to the Sunshine Coast and enjoy Christmas festivities together for a week or so. As my sister was overseas for Christmas last year we are excited and happy to have her back in Oz. We will celebrate spending time in the pool, at the beach and on my brother’s boat with all of the family including my nieces and nephews, and great nephews. – Vicki

Christmas will be spent at home this year with all my mum’s extended family. Altogether there are 22 of us – plenty of mouths to feed. The day will be spent playing with all the little ones (stealing their toys) before we all fall into a deep food coma after lunch. It will be the last day I get to spend with my younger sister who is off on an 8 month exchange to Holland on Boxing Day. I’m looking forward to spending the day with all those close to me and eating a very large helping of my Nonna’s amazing tiramisu! – Ashley

Christmas this year will be spent in beautiful Sydney! We love the local beaches this time of year and spend many days having picnics and swimming over the school holidays. Christmas day will be a family gathering in stunning Manly. – Cherie

This year my family will have the” Christmas Day Double”.   My husbands’ family who live in Ryde will host Christmas lunch and my family who live around the corner in Ryde will host Christmas dinner.  There will be a lot of festivities with both extended families and an expected long long day. My two children enjoy their Christmas break going to the beach and we will spending some time on the Myall Lakes.  – Belinda

Thank you for your continued support this year, we do appreciate it. Ashley, Belinda and I look forward to continuing to attend to your foot health needs in 2015, and Vicki and Cherie to welcoming you in reception. In the meantime, remember to show your love for your feet as summer arrives!
