October is Foot Health Month and with summer just around the corner (well it feels like it’s already here!), it’s the perfect time to focus attention on one of the most neglected parts of our bodies.

Are your feet ready for summer? Research by our Australasian Podiatry Council has shown that people are more likely to service their car than have their feet checked by a podiatrist.

Did you know that our feet house more than a quarter of the bones in the body as well as a network of muscles, ligaments and joints? They are also our main mode of transport, so any foot problems should be promptly addressed.

Here are some tips for starters:

  • Have your corns and calluses removed
  • Treat your cracked heels
  • Treat and then continue to prevent tinea
  • Protect your feet from sunburn
  • Attend to any nail problems, particularly fungal, before it spreads.

We are thrilled to be offering laser therapy, the latest treatment technology in the fight against fungal nail disease. Prior to laser therapy, there were only time consuming, messy topical treatments which have not been very effective, and prescription medications that may have significant side effects. Don’t be embarrassed to go barefoot this summer!

Did you know that we offer complementary therapy treatments too? Introducing the gorgeous Liz Hammond and Siobhan Morgan, joining us from November.

Liz is a highly qualified and experienced massage therapist, relaxation & meditation teacher, and reiki practitioner.

Siobhan is a reflexologist, this is a non-invasive technique of applying gentle pressure to areas on the ears, face, hands and feet to bring balance in physical, mental, emotional and energetic levels of the body.

We’re also excited to announce that we have a new, convenient way to access our services. You can now book with us online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week! Simply visit www.forestpodiatry.com.au and click on ‘Make an Appointment’. Appointments are available online for Sophia, Phil, Liz and Siobhan.

Show your love for your feet, mind & body this summer!
